About Northstar Systembuilt

Northstar Systembuilt is a residential & commercial modular manufacturer specializing in single family, multi-family, hospitality, workforce housing, and public-sector developments across the Midwest and Mountain West. Our single family division operates by supporting and selling homes through a Dealer network and our commercial division operates by supporting and selling projects through a builder and developer network.

With over 30 years of experience and dual production facilities, we deliver complex, multi-building projects with speed, predictability, and scale—helping clients reduce schedule risk, cost and accelerate timelines through utilizing off-site construction.

We have significant production capacity and are actively investing in growth, creating a unique opportunity for a high-performing business developer to make an immediate impact.

About the Role

This is a true business development / hunter role.

We are looking for a driven, self-starting dealmaker whose primary focus is creating new opportunities, opening doors, and winning new work within the commercial market. While maintaining existing relationships is of key importance, success in this role will be measured by the ability to generate and close new commercial projects.

This is an opportunity to step into a company with proven delivery capability and available factory capacity—and help convert market demand into executed projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify, pursue, and secure new commercial project opportunities
  • Build new relationships with:
  • Developers and ownership groups
  • General contractors
  • Architects and design teams
  • Public-sector and agency partners
  • Generate and qualify high-value leads aligned with Northstar’s capabilities
  • Drive early-stage project conversations (concept, feasibility, budgeting)
  • Position modular construction as a competitive advantage (speed, cost, logistics)
  • Develop and manage a robust, active pipeline of opportunities
  • Maintain and grow select existing client relationships to drive repeat business
  • Represent Northstar in the market through travel, meetings, and industry engagement
  • Collaborate internally to move opportunities from concept to contract

What Success Looks Like

  • Consistent creation of new, qualified project opportunities
  • Strong, active pipeline across target markets
  • Ability to get in early with developers and decision-makers
  • Conversion of opportunities into awarded work
  • Measurable contribution to revenue growth and factory utilization

Qualifications

  • 5–10+ years in construction, business development, sales, or deal origination
  • Proven track record of hunting, developing, and closing new business
  • Background in commercial construction, development, or related industry
  • Strong existing network with developers, GCs, or public-sector clients
  • Highly self-motivated, competitive, and results-driven
  • Comfortable operating independently in a remote role
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently

Preferred Experience

  • Multi-family, hospitality, or workforce housing projects
  • Modular or off-site construction experience
  • Experience in Mountain West or similar markets
  • Exposure to multi-building or phased developments

Why Northstar

  • Immediate opportunity to drive growth with available production capacity
  • Proven platform with strong project portfolio and delivery track record
  • High-autonomy role for a self-driven performer
  • Direct impact on company growth and market expansion
  • Competitive compensation with strong performance upside
  • Family owned and operated company
